PREPARING FOR NEW GENERAL MANAGER LEADERSHIP, MANAGING ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE AND EMPOWERING TEAM DEVELOPMENT

Challenge: Human Resources Leader has managed consistent Leadership changes in her 5-year tenure. She recognized the opportunity that comes with leadership change yet struggled with the repetitiveness and exhaustion of re-setting the organization.

Discovery: She recognized that this change was inevitable and the importance of being a role model during this change. We broke down the change timelines into manageable segments: team preparedness, communication, reaction; importance of building trust with new leadership. Due to her mentoring skills, she discovered that her second in command can take on some of the change management burden, lightening her workload.

Outcome: These insights and new mindset left her empowered and with a stronger sense of resilience to change. Recognizing the importance of balance in her professional and personal life, she also set longer term career goals and a 12-month target to move onto new opportunities.
